So still, my hair isnt even blowing. The sand has started to cool down but it's still warm below the surface. I feel like my words would do no justice to the sky though. It's a cross between night and day, but it's both at once. The vision I have of the scene is lit by the fading but still enduring sunlight of today, but the moon is shining, not simply the white shadow of its usual daytime self. The sea still has colour and although it is grey and orange instead of blue, it isnt yet the invisible black that it is at night. I can see the flashing lights of beacons, which at night mark the horizon but I can still identify the horizon because of the peach-coloured sky contrasting the dark ocean. Now I can see the moon's reflection on the almost flat waters in front of me and realise it must be almost night. sigh.
I should head home because nighttime is not somewhere you should be without shoes..
Decision made: don't ever go anywhere without a camera.

blessed
Wow, so I've been thinking since I arrived in Singapore that I would blog everything all the time and as it turns out today was the day I was to fly back and still I had done none. Coincidently however, it turns out I will be here a while longer. So I will not miss the opportunity after all!
That isn't the reason I extended my stay though.
So, around two and a half weeks ago I flew over to Singapore with Jonny, my bro, to join some of our Singaporean friends on a mission trip to Cambodia. Until then I had never been to either of these countries, in fact- never out of Australia anywhere before. Very exciting.
So I've since then made heaps of new friends (want proof? check fb) and eaten heaps of new things. Some less new than others...
As for going home after the trip, that was meant to be today.. Two days ago I decided that I would stay in Singapore and one day ago my flight was booked. The crazy thing is how much God has blessed me, despite my often remarkably unextrordinary, undeserving and sometimes erratic behaviour. Clearly God loves me.
You know who else He loves?
These little ones.

coincidence.
This morning’s reading was 1 Corinthians 13, ‘The Love Chapter’ as Gran called it. I love this passage and have actually been thinking about it a lot recently... Maybe you can tell… I figure now is as good a time as any to explain the name if this blog, because even I can admit, it does seem a bit random. Well, the url is a bit of a giveaway. I thought to myself, “I could just call it Charity. Or Charities Blog” (I like pretending my name can be plural. The spell checker doesn’t pick it up!) But I thought that was just too boring, and not meaningful enough. Effectively though, this is the same! And I am proud of my discovery :)
The King James Version reads;
And now abideth faith, hope, charity, these three; but the greatest of these is charity.
I think this verse is speaking to me… Haha. Now, as a coincidence, I also read this today – also on the topic of love.
Love is like a beautiful flower which I may not touch, but whose fragrance makes the garden a place of delight just the same.
-Helen Keller
Some quotes only become truly profound when you realise the context in which they were said, and Helen Keller was a truly amazing and inspiring person. The capacity which I have, not only to live but to love suddenly seems immense.

fire
There is something uniquely exhilarating about having a ball of fire roaring towards your face through the darkness. Not altogether bad either..
I love my family. Thanks God for the awesome family you've given me :)

4:12
Somehow I don’t think my body can take any more ventalin, my hands are shaking so bad I can hardly type. 4am is never a good time when you didn’t choose to be awake then… or you have to work in the morning. Where exactly is that point when you decide that it’s no longer viable to go back to sleep and so you give up? I hope I'm not waking anyone up..What to do ... when the rest of your world is asleep? Start a blog?
Its funny how your brain works sometimes when it's not really awake.. Not this morning though. As soon as I woke up I looked at the time, and thought of a Switchfoot song.
Funny is probably not the right word. It seems to me that my mind is clearer when the rest of the world is asleep. It hasn't had time to get tainted by the reality of my everyday life. Again, reality is probably the wrong word, that state of mind is not real. Superficial maybe? Material? It's nonsensical.. God, as I go about my day please help me to remember how real you were at 4:12 this morning.
