dusk

So still, my hair isnt even blowing. The sand has started to cool down but it's still warm below the surface. I feel like my words would do no justice to the sky though. It's a cross between night and day, but it's both at once. The vision I have of the scene is lit by the fading but still enduring sunlight of today, but the moon is shining, not simply the white shadow of its usual daytime self. The sea still has colour and although it is grey and orange instead of blue, it isnt yet the invisible black that it is at night. I can see the flashing lights of beacons, which at night mark the horizon but I can still identify the horizon because of the peach-coloured sky contrasting the dark ocean. Now I can see the moon's reflection on the almost flat waters in front of me and realise it must be almost night. sigh.
I should head home because nighttime is not somewhere you should be without shoes..

Decision made: don't ever go anywhere without a camera.
